Your adrenal glands are glands located over the top of your kidneys and they have to do with stress. When you have stress your adrenal glands put out adrenaline so that you can run really fast or are very strong to fight. They are called your fight or flight glands. Unfortunately, in this day and age we sometimes have a lot stress and this can make it to where your adrenals don't shut off and they go into fatigue or exhaustion. When this happens here are some of the things that can happen, you could have any or all of these:
Sinus or Allergy problems
Joint Instability
Hormone Problems
Sleep Problems
Fatigue (Especially in the afternoon)
Hypotension (when you go from seated position to standing position and you get blackness or dizziness in front of your eyes.)
These are all signs of weak adrenals or over acting adrenal glands. When your adrenals are over reacting they make a hormone called cortisol. When your cortisol levels get too high, these are some of the symptoms that you could be experiencing:
Sleep Problems (Not getting good REM sleep)
Can’t lose weight
Thyroid Problems
Sugar Problems (Glucose)
Anxiety
Brain Fog
Osteoporosis (bones become weak and brittle)
The adrenal gland screening consists taking blood pressure seated and standing. If your blood pressure does not raise when you stand up by 6-8 points that shows sign of adrenal fatigue.
